Ok, so I am finally starting my A School and will be (hopefully) leaving Ecity NC at the end of November. I’m already getting restless and cant wait to find out where i’ll be living next. The thing is I think I want to purchase an Airstream camper to live in, it’s either that or a house boat but dad says they don’t resell well. Anybody ever tried living in an airstream? McDreamy does it on Grey’s so it can’t be all that bad! I’d probably have to pay a lot fee or something but then I’d pocket the rest of my Housing allowance (I mean i’d put it in savings!!!) Any theories on how great this idea is??? Or horror stories about spending more than a few weeks in a camper? The more I think about it the more appealing it seems, like a pirate driving a trailer instead of a ship!

Pirates of the Caribbean movies have become so popular. I have always been interested in the actual lives of pirates. There is a book I want to read called The Republic of Pirates. Amazon describes the book as being the true and surprising story of the Caribbean pirates and the man who brought them down.  I bought the book before I had heard anything about it at the airport in Norfolk on my way home for my bro’s graduation.  I was surprised to see it on a must read list while lying on the beach at Kill Devil Hills reading a magazine.

While mom and dad were here we went to The Outerbanks. The pirate theme was evident everywhere. Blackbeard frequented the coast of North Carolina. The Outerbanks was a favorite place for pirates. You should see the maps of all the shipwrecks. Pirates would use lanterns to look like ships afloat and other ships would run aground and the pirates would pilage the wreck. This was before lighthouse signals were widely used.

I need to go into the moving business. I have moved so many times that I am getting rather good at packing large things into small boxes. I can fit a lot into the trunk of my car. My Dad will vouch for that. He helped me unload it all when I got a flat tire on the way from Baltimore, MD to Indiana. We fixed the flat and had to put it all back!  Now I’m moving from one bedroom in a town house to an even smaller bedroom in the barracks, gotta love military life, at least I get to fly around on Heliocopters!

I got mom onto my body board and was that awsome! We got her one good wave and she was swept right on the beach. She was laughing so hard that she couldn’t stand up and so the waves kept knocking her down. Dad found some fisherman out on the pier and had a great time watching them cast and catch fish. He said if we had seen what those guys were catching we wouldn’t be in the water anymore.

We played put-put golf at a great course. It was called Mutiny something and had the pirate theme. There was a ship with cannons on it and the cannons would shoot the cannonballs and make the water explode. It was fantastic, there was smoke and everything except cannonballs. Dad won and I hate to say this but, Mom beat me by 2 strokes! She got lucky with a hole in one. Now she thinks she’s a pro mini golfer!

Yay! Mom and Dad are here. They said they just about killed each other fighting over where to turn a few times but all was forgotten. I’ve shown them around the base and they’ve seen what I’ve been doing.

We are setting out to look around North Carolina and maybe Virginia over the next few days.

I really like a good movie. So the other night I when the guys decided to see Oceans 13 I went with and ended up at diner and a movie.  The good thing about all of the Oceans movies is even if it isn’t any good you get to see some hotties! It is good to see Ellen Barkin in a movie again. It has been awhile since she has acted.  Although I did read some where she had a bad attitude on set, not many of the guys try to hang around her and on the red carpet she said Matt Damon was no Pacino right in front of Damon, WHAT!?!

It turned out to be a pretty good movie. I liked how they referenced the previous movies in subtle way, but I missed Julia and Catherine.

Hey y’all, I just want to share a picture of an army apache that I got to taxi down the helio runway a few days ago. The wind from the blades almost knocked me backwards, they are more gusty than the h60’s I’m used to. Also here is a picture of my friends snapping turtle, did you know they had tails like a dragon!!! He bit at my finger through the glass.

Only a few weeks until my parents make the 14 hour drive to visit me in glorious Elizabeth City! This is the site for the they will stay at Hopefully they are ready for some time at the beach, and some humid weather. I am so excited to show them the airframes that I have been working with.
