My Grandma’s sister was not quite herself and began forgetting where she was. It was a scary time until the family recognized a problem and the doctor diagnosed her as having Alzheimers. It is, as all diseases are, an unfair medical condition that everyone fears. Because there is no cure, persons with Alzheimer’s often feel as though they are on death row without having committed a crime. They get lost in department stores or start driving somewhere and forget where they were going. It is not fun. It isn’t a great time for the families who have a loved one with the disease. It causes frustration and short tempers. It just isn’t a nice disease.

Something has to be done. A cure needs to be found. That is why I and so many like me feel strongly that we need to raise money for research to find a cure. There will be an important walk close to where I live. It is called a Memory Walk and will be held in Virginia Beach, Virginia. They are in need of Team Captains. If this is something you feel that you can do, get signed up for this nationwide event. If you don’t live around here, you can go to the Alzheimer’s Association website and find a walk in your area. You are needed.

Describing a journey as riding the highway to hell, this rider participated in the Jeantex Bike Transalp, a grueling endurance race from Germany to Italy. Vast amounts of training were done in preparation but still huge cramps made the body scream, “as my dehydrated body attempted to tackle Europe’s toughest mountain bike race”. You wouldn’t believe what had to be done to endure this race and support a great cause.

Christmas shopping will be easy this year even though I’ll be stuck here studying.

Oh Wow! I don’t know how I fell into this one but a group of coasties are going to see Trace Adkins tonite. I think the concert is in Virginia. I really don’t care. I am outa here!
