A Unique Gift

I found a cool gift for one of my friends. She is due to have a baby soon. She already has everything she needs for the nursery. I have been trying to think of something different to give her to celebrate the birth of her baby. At Fotobed.com I can get a photo made into a keepsake for her. I think I will wait until the baby is born and have a pretty throw made with the baby’s picture on it. I am going to have the birth date and the baby’s name put on right under the picture. That would be something special! Photo Pillowcases, Photo Shower Curtains and beautiful Photo Throws are just a few of the things you can order from Fotobed.com. It is an easy process and the throws are completely washable. She is going to love this.

Great Dad

I just read a story on CNN online about a daughter who called 911 to say her Dad was speeding. The story tells that the Dad was drunk and was going 90 mph. Ugh. What a position to put a child in. No wonder kids screw up when they have that kind of adult as a role model.

My Dad doesn’t drink. He might have a beer when he works outside on a hot day. He would never drive if he had alcohol in his system.

My Dad doesn’t speed. In fact, if we need to get somewhere in a hurry, we beg him to let Mom drive!

Board Surfing

You know, when you borrow someones diving gear, you should take good care of it. Grrr. One of the girls here at school wore my brand new fins and one of them floated off her foot. Bye bye fin. If it didn’t fit she should not have wore it into the water. Everything gets bigger and looser when it gets wet! She is a dits.

I hope to get some boarding in when I get to the new base. The beaches around here are nicer than the ones I went to around Baltimore. If I keep moving south, I will be able to board surf all the time!

511 Tactical

I know I should be studying but I am playing! All work and no…well you know. I have to play sometime! I found a cool website that Dad needs to check out. We are into this kinda stuff. I was surprised how well he did when we went to the range last time I was home. So, mom, if you are reading this, tell Dad to check out 511 Tactical. Tell him that they have the SureFire Delta knife. That will get him to look! My Dad hates the computer.

Pondering

Ok, I have been looking online for a place to live at my new assignment. If it were up to you, would you live 10 minutes away from the beach or 10 minutes away from work?

I’m leaning towards living closer to work. That way I can save money on gas so I’ll be able to afford food when I go to the beach! The weather in Jacksonville has been in the high 60’s the past few days. That means the beach season is shorter than if I lived farther south. Maybe we will have fewer bugs! Ha!

Time Is Moving

Only 13 more days of school!

I’ve been checking out some concert dates and am kinda bummed that AFI doesn’t have any. I need a diversion! Study, study, study is not good for my brain! LOL

I am getting excited to see my STUFF. My furniture has been stored in Baltimore since March. I even miss my pots and pans!

Employment Dream

I love my job and the people I work with but sometimes I think it would be nice to be able to make a living from my home. I would love to stay in my jammies and get my work done. 30 Days of Night

I watched what was supposed to be one of the scariest movies ever. 30 Days of Night was disappointing. This movie is the tale about evil that terrorized the town of Barrow. Darkness overtakes the land and the sun is not seen for 30 days. Hoping to save the town becomes the mission of the husband and wife police team.

The movie was ok but it was not a thriller.

Virtual Makeover

Do you ever wonder what you would look like in a new hairstyle? I do. I often wonder what I would look like if my hair was a different color. I am not taking a chance on getting my hair cut and having to live with it. My hair is very curly and there are only a few hairstyles that I could wear without my hair freaking out on me!

At Make Over Solution’s website you can do a virtual makeover that lets you see how you might look with different hairstyles, color etc. It is fun to do a makeover on the website and it is easy too! I registered and put in my picture. Then I was able to manuever the software to adjust it to the shape of my face by putting small dots at different places on my face. That let me adjust the shape of my mouth and the width my eyes are set apart. Then I could choose all kinds of variables to see what I would look like. OMG! It is crazy fun!

Don’t get freaked out by a new haircut or color. Use Make Over Solutions to make decisions on a new style for yourself. It’s alot easier than wearing a hat for a year!

The Golden Compass

I have been reading The Golden Compass. It is part of the His Dark Materials Trilogy. Philip Pullman wrote the three books The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. These books tell tales of places where daemons and winged creatures live side by side with humans, and a mysterious entity called Dust just might have the power to unite the universes–if it isn’t destroyed first. This story tells the tale of an alternative world where people’s souls manifest themselves as animals, talking bears fight wars, and Gyptians and witches co-exist. The characters, Lyra, Pantalaimon, Will, and the rest embark on the most breathtaking, heartbreaking adventure of their lives. The fate of the universe is in their hands.
