Feel free to sing along if you know that one! That’s right I’m in a singin mood! I spent all morning and afternoon doing beachy things. You know, the tuff stuff. Laying on my towel without getting covered in sand, jumping with the waves avoiding saltwater in the eyes, tossing the football, and of course, getting sunburned. Once I got home my cousin and family stopped by for a pizza. They’re on the road again and I’ve been doing homework. My stapler was out of staples, mind you I don’t think I’ve put any in it in about 2 years, but I found the box of staples right where it was supposed to be and that made today even better! It really is the small stuff sometimes.

So I just got home from work after fighting with all of the scary, nasty creepy crawlies that like to fly and crawl in the hanger doors because of all of the magnificent lights. When I went to the kitchen for my bedtime snack what did I find??? A monsterous spider comin’ at me from behind the fridge. Its black body was the size of a nickel and its legs, well, I almost lept on to the counter. I decided the best thing to do would be to stomp on it quickly before it could escape. When I did about 50 teeny tiny spiders burst out of its writhing body, super scream inside of my head. I squished those buggers too, then smashed with the broom and swept the whole mess into the garage under roommies car! Now I know they’ve followed me upstairs and are going to give me nightmares, why couldn’t Merlin have eaten them before I got home?

Work work work

Working on the night shift is kicking my bum!!! We actually do work on this shift so now I don’t get time to do my homework at work. I’ve been stayin up til 3 or so working on homework and sleeping til noonish everyday, burnin the daylight! I wanted to share with yall my buddy Myli and her babies, miss ya!

Crawfish

What is it about the south and boiling things? When I lived in Louisiana we were always having a crawfish boil, or shrimp boil, or something boil. Some sort of shell fish was going into a ginormous pot of boiling water and we were having a party. When I lived in Maryland, famous for its crabs, we had cakes and I don’t think I saw a huge pot of boiling shell fish the entire time I lived there. Now that I am back in a southernish state the parties are starting again. The other night at work people pitched in and had a crawfish boil, I’m talking 60lbs of crawfish. They laid newspaper on a 6 ft plastic folding table and poured the crawfish and vegetables directly from the pot to the paper. It was such a sight, alas I did not have my camera. I guess we will do a food night once a week so next time I will be prepared. It was a fun evening.

Aligned

Today I went to get my first set of Invisalign retainers. I thought I was going to get some little tabs glued to my teeth and get aligning trays, but I only got the trays. I will be going back in a few weeks for the tabs and new aligners. My teeth feel weird when the trays are out, and I can tell they are working already. It’s like wearing those fake halloween vampire teeth all the time ‘cept no one else knows. So far they are pretty annoying, and I have to get used to sleeping in them. It’s definately worth it to have my teeth oh so pretty though! I can’t wait til it feels weird to not be wearing them.

Usually I am complaining about having very little to do at work. I don’t want people having the wrong idea about aviation life in the coast guard, when I don’t have much to do that means the choppers are up and running well, and our peeps are taking out the bad guys. It’s just when everything works I get bored. Last week was great, I was busy for almost all five days of work. We replaced gadgets, chased wires, drained fuel, and got greasy! Today wasn’t as busy but I did some work, and here’s a pic of me in the tail cone, hope it’s good cause I haven’t looked at it yet. The other is of two of my fellow coastie tweets!

Bionic

It seems I am on an all things bionic kick. First I started watching those Anime movies of my roommates, which consisted of cartoon Bio-people. Some cyborgs and whatnot. Now I’ve just received the new Bionic Woman series and watched the whole season in one sitting. I like the characters, and the actors, this series is very well done. I never watched the original series, but this bionic woman is less bionic than human, I think she has more heart even though all but one of her limbs was replaced. The villain in the show is super awsome, although there may be more than one. Eventually the bad guys become the good guys and there are more bad guys introduced. Up next is Nip/Tuck. . .

Work week

I think I had the best work week ever. There was actually stuff to fix this week and the boredum was minimal. I also had 3 halfdays this week and get monday off. I’ve used my spare time to catch up on naps, and watch movies. My roommate got me to watch an anime movie and I actually liked it. It’s called Appleseed and is futuristic sci-fi. The graphics are great and the plot isn’t too cheesy. I think it’s time to catch up on some more nap time, life is hard!

After a great time with friends in Baltimore, it is time to return home to Florida. I am not as sad as I might be because my brother is arriving at the airport at the same time. He is coming to visit me while he is on spring break. We are going to have a blast. He needs a break because he has been working really hard at school.
